My grandma passed away yesterday at the age of 93. She lived an amazing life. Married to her husband for 70 years. Mother of 4 children. Served in the same church for 60 years. Led the children’s choir.
My grandpa told me a story about how he was doing church finances one day, and the pastor came by and said “George, starting today, Marianne is officially on the payroll. She’s responsible for bringing more people to this church than myself”. He told another story about how a new family visited the church, and the daughters of the family said they wanted to be a part of this church and sing in that choir.
I have no doubt my Grandma will be told “well done, my good and faithful servant”. Let this be an encouragement to all of us as we go through the grind of serving! Keep going!
