Thang 1
Talking with a friend we met up with this weekend, he shared a workout he did recently called Fat Amy. Everything about it sounded very F3, and sure enough, after googling "F3 Fat Amy", many backblasts come up. So we did Fat Amy, but :black+diamond2: -ified it by adding coupons to a few of the coupon-free exercises. We met at the base of the hill, and completed our version of Fat Amy:
PAX performed one exercise. After each exercise, PAX did 10 burpees, and then ran the small wheel: up the hill, back down the closest staircase. Upon returning to the base of the hill, repeat with the next exercise. The exercises were:

  • 50 goblet squats
  • 40 BBSUs with coupon
  • 30 lunges with coupon
  • 20 coupon swings
  • Bear crawl to entrance of the track and back
  • 20 coupon swings
  • 30 lunges with coupon
  • 40 BBSUs with coupon
  • 50 goblet squats

I also did an orange theory workout with my sister this weekend. In that workout we did many "load and explode" exercises, where you did one exercise with some weight and a second, more explosive exercise working the same muscle group. We did a 9 minute EMOM where each minute consisted of the weighted exercise and the explosive exercise. We rotated through the following, completing each set of exercises 3 times (the weighted rep counts started higher, but YHC quickly dropped them down to the numbers below):

  • 15 chest presses / 10 power merkins (merkin where you explode upward to raise your hands off the ground briefly)
  • 15 skull crushers / 10 power dips (dips where you explode upward to raise your palms off the wall)
  • 10 deep swimmers press / 10 curls (explosively)

Love everyone as Jesus loves them. Jesus loves us so much he sacrificed himself for us. He did this in spite of our sins, our shortcomings, even our lack of love towards him. He sees us as being made in God’s image. I’ve noticed myself not showing love and compassion towards some others because I don’t agree with some things they do or I’m otherwise just more focused on something about them that I don’t like rather than being more focused on the fact they are made in God’s image, God loves them despite all the reasons I’m choosing not to love them at that moment, and that I should love them the same. So go out and love people the way Jesus loves them.

The Thang:
We headed over to Hacksaw Ridge for some 11s. Do 1 rep of first exercise on one side of the hill. Run up and over to the other side and do 10 reps of the second exercise. Return to start do 2 reps of exercise 1, up over the hill for 9 reps of exercise 2. Repeat until 10 of exercise 1 and 1 of exercise 2. We made it through two rounds:

  • Round 1: Thrusters / Merkins
  • 300 Curls spittoon style before moving on to round 2.
  • Round 2: Coupon situps (coupon touches ground above head and between legs) / regular big boy situps
  • 100 Blockees spittoon style

I had many more rounds planned but failed to realize just how long 11s actually take. We made our way back to the flag and finished with a 1 minute plank.
