PAX continued around the bases until the six was in leaving a lot of PAX on base (not unsimilar to the recent Cubs offense)

Next up was the 7th inning stretch – we ran around the small loop on the west end of the AO stopping in the middle for a stretching and SSH routine and completed our lap back at Hoffa where our coupons awaited us.

Next up we split into two teams, one team went up Hoffa and back with a predetermined mode of travel while the other team performed an exercise until the six was in. Round 1 – Coupon Swings/Bear Crawls
Round 2 – Rows/Side Shuffles

We then did 6MOM on Hoffa – pick your incline or decline position

The Thang:

Thang 1: Green Sally Up

Thang 2: Moseyed to the field by the parking lot, numbered off. Numbers 1 and 2 would bounce the 30# bouncing medicine ball back and forth. Numbers 3 and 4 played tug of sandbag. 2 cones were set up and called 0. two more sets of cones were set up at +10 yds and –10 yds. The 200# sandbag was put in between the cones at 0. Pax 3 starts at the –10 cones and PAX 4 at the +10 cones. PAX complete 5 no cheat merkins, run the the bag and drag it back to their cone. When the second PAX gets there, they tag the first PAX and drag it the other way. The first PAX returns to their own side and earns another drag, runs, tags the second PAX, and drags it back towards their base. Repeato. the original drag for each PAX requires 5 no cheat merkins, the next 4, the next 3, and so forth down to 1. Each time you get the bag to your cones record a point, stop and wait for the other PAX to get to the bag.

PAX 5 and 6 did a best of 3 series of burlap sack races. In you sack, jump out 20 yds, around a cone, and back. After a series winner is established, PAX rotate to the higher number (and 6 goes to 1). Repeat until each PAX has done all 6 positions.

Thang 3:

Mosey to the other parking lot to find the battle rope. Pax 1 and 2 swing the rope around, Pax 3 jumps rope, PAX 4 holds plank, PAX 5 holds Al Gore, PAX 6 does one arm clean and presses of the 35# kettle ball. Rotate until each PAX does each position 2 times.

Moleskine: Always work to improve. Find 1 thing (and only 1 thing) that you want to work on, and put a system in place that makes sucess easier, and failure more costly.

Song of the Lark:

In 1884, French painter Jules Breton captured a moment so simple it almost escapes notice: a peasant girl standing in a field at sunrise, holding a scythe, her gaze lifted — perhaps listening to a bird’s song in the calm of early morning. No glory, no grandeur. Just a young woman, barefoot in the dirt, pausing before the work begins again.

The painting has stopped people in their tracks for well over a century. But perhaps no story about it is more striking than Bill Murray’s. Early in his career in Chicago, after a performance he felt was disastrous, Murray walked out of the theater and just kept walking — disenchanted, unmoored, heading toward Lake Michigan. He wandered into the Art Institute and found himself standing in front of The Song of the Lark.

What he saw there broke through. He thought: “Well, there’s a girl who doesn’t have a whole lot of prospects, but the sun’s coming up anyway and she’s got another chance at it.” And then: “I, too, am a person, and I get another chance every day the sun comes up.”
