1.23.2020 – “Nolan Richardson”

It was a snowy morning, but 6 faithful PAX (Noodles, Shiplap, Captain Crunch, Hotbox, Gummibear, Banks) showed for the beatdown. 1.20.20 — Rucking and More Rucking

A balmy (positive single digits) MLK Day saw 6 PAX (Archive, Banks, Ship Lap, TBTF, Gummi Bear, Capn Crunch) looking for a good scenic hike. A nice 3 mile loop through Lincoln Marsh and back to the AO was selected and they were off.

The weekend snow had frozen hard so ankles we’re looked after, opting to keep the heavy shuffle portions to the first and last miles where pavement was plentiful. The scenic middle mile had lots of crunchy, lumpy snow (our fate for the foreseeable future). Solid mile times meant getting 3 miles in 40 minutes, arriving back at the AO just in time after a slightly delayed start. Good conversation and good exercise in the same heavy breath.

Prayers for a good start to the week, good time at home, health and intentionality as we get into the groove for the year.

But wait, there’s more!

Archive, TBTF and Crunch saw everyone off and then set off on an EC ruck on loop #2, heading on a wide perimeter around the outside of the park to Main St., Cole, Morse, and then back in. The way was treacherous and lumpy most of the time so we made slow progress and cancelled the planned mini ruck PT session in favor of a prompt return to breakfast with family.

1.18.2020 – Shock Treatment

It was a nice cold day. Plenty of snow on the ground from Friday’s snowfall. 6 PAX made the call for HC (Noodles, Archive, Captain Crunch, Ship Lap, Hotbox, TBTF, Banks). Today’s workout did bring out the inner child in all of us. Oh what fun it is to play in the SNOW!

01.21.2020 – EC Beatdown… 3 Weeks in a Row!

It was another chilly day at AO Mastodon, but their was no wind, so it ended up being a great morning for an EC Beatdown. We had 5 brave PAX (Dovetail, Shiplap, Captain Crunch, Gummibear, Banks) put out their HC’s for today’s Extra Credit.

Warm-O-Rama:

  • 7x Motivators
  • 15x Tin Soldiers
  • 10x Merkins IC
  • 10x Mountain Man Poopers

The Thang:

We moseyed down the road in the AO until the end where we put the finish line for our upcoming competition, then we moseyed back to the parking lot for the festivities to begin.

We broke out into 2 teams and since Captain Crunch had obliged in bringing Bertha to the beatdown, we each had a 65# Sandbag to have some fun with. One PAX would clean and throw the sandbag forward as far as they can and then walk to it and repeat. The goal was to be the first team to reach the finish line at the other end of the road. While the one PAX had the sandbag, the others completed a round of 10x B.O.M.B.S (Burpees, Outlaws, Merkins, Big Boy Situps, Squats), then they ran to swap out with their partner on the sandbag. The partner without the sandbag ran back to the start line and completed 10x B.O.M.B.S. and repeat. Shiplap was a beast on the sandbag, so his team won. We then moseyed back to the parking lot to wrap up

COR/NOR/COT:

Prayers for a good week, the group to continue growing, and praise for Gummibear’s new daughter.

01.14.2020 – EC Beatdown

11 PAX (Noodles, Ship Lap, FNG-Dovetail, HotBox, FNG-Body Pillow, Captain Crunch, Too Big To Fail, Banks, Jazz Hands, Archive, Gummi Bear) posted to a squally Saturday morning workout ready to “Embrace the Suck”. 1.9.2020! – Old Fashioned Beatdown

Amazing Photography Skills Courtesy of Captain Crunch

It was another beautiful day at AO Mastodon and we had 7 PAX ( Archive, Noodles, Captain Crunch, TBTF, Ship Lap, Gummibear & Banks) show up for a Thursday morning thriller. In typical fashion, YHC did not have a fancy workout put together, but made sure it would be intense for all involved!

Warm-O-Rama:

  • 15x Tin Soldiers IC
  • 10x Merkins IC
  • 2x Karaoke runs
  • 1 Mile run

Thang 1: Jacob’s Ladder

Run to the top of the hill, complete 1 burpee and run back down. Repeat with 2 burpees, finishing at a total of 7 burpees.

Thang 2: Upper Body Circuit

Circuit consisted of the following:

  • Pullups (10x)
  • Derkins with Knee Tuck (20x)
  • Dips (30x)

Complete 1 round, then decrease Pullups by 1, Derkins by 2, and Dips by 3. Continue until down to 1 or time is called. Most PAX finished on the round of 6.

From there we moseyed to the flag and called it a day!
